Duct tape. Supposedly used in taping a/c ducts, though I hear it actually kinda sucks for that.

Thanks Darren I thought it was because thats what holds my Duck Boat, my Duck gun,several decoys, and the waders I hunt Ducks in together. Never thought of using it for hvac ducks.

The interesting part is that about the only thing it ISN'T good for is holding together ducts... and making pants, duct tape doesn't make very goo pants.

Dgibson is actually right, the name did come from air ducts and yes it does suck for that mainly because the oil that is on the metal. Although alot of guys still use it,most guys now use what they commonly call Pooky. Its just a mastic that has a elastic base, it is painted on and seals the ducts alot better. Duct tape when it is used now is mainly used to wrap the inside liner of flex duct to collars tapping off of trunk lines.
