Hello all, this is my first post and i would like to say this seems like a great group of people who are very knowledgeable and would like to thank you for at least taking the time to open my post. I have been pouring over Wyoming antelope hunting info for weeks now. My fiance and i are to be married this coming October, and our plan is to take a honeymoon antelope hunt in Wyoming for our 1 year anniversary. i am planning on putting in for pp for both of us this year so we will have 1 pp for the year 2016 which is when we plan on hunting. My fiance and i love hunting, were throwing a camo hunting theme wedding, we typically camp and hunt 12-15 days a year for turkey and deer here in NY however this will be our honeymoon also so some camping will be ok but we would also like a hotel room at least a few nights.

I have found that units 7 16 21 23 24 27 29 are often talked about. i think i would like to hunt the areas 7, 24, 27, 29. i see the pp requirements for these areas have increased in the last few years, where at one time it was a 100% draw with no preference points, and now without 1 pp your chances are alot less. how is the access on unit 7? would this be a better bet than the others? i know it has less public land but would it still be worth it? any info and help would be great, thanks.

I don't have the answers to your questions, but I will say that it appears that you married the right gal! Also, welcome to the site.

also if anyone has any other units to suggest i would love to hear them. we are not trophy hunting, we would like to each take bucks though, a 12 in buck would make us both very happy. thanks again.

Welcome! I agree you definitely have found the right one!
Don't overlook the special draw, it's a couple hundred dollars more but you may have more options. There are a few similar threads on this topic so be sure to read up on those. Once you settle on a drawable unit that has some public ground, finding lopes should not be an issue. Be sure to pick up a chip for your GPS.
Just a thought but you may want to hotel it the first few days and honeymoon away then go set up camp and hunt. Driving from a hotel to where you want to hunt may be a PIA depending on where you end up.

With only 1PP it will not give you a whole lot of options when you're talking not hunting until 2016. It will be doable, but it's doubtful that you would draw several of the units you mentioned unless you got lucky in the random draw. This year unit 7 took 1 PP for 100% draw, unit 27 was only 48.39% draw with 2PPs, and 29-1 was 42.11% with 1PP. However, unit 24 had 100% draw with no PPs and had many leftovers and the Type 2 in 29 for private land only was also 100% draw with no PPs and had many leftovers. I'd seriously think about those last two I mentioned and see if you can lock up a ranch to hunt on. That way you could forget about buying a PP and save that money towards paying an access fee to hunt private property. You have quite some time to save your money for that and you need to be aware that the license fees may well be about 10% higher in 2016 if the Legislature passes a Bill that will surely be introduced in 2015. That's my take on what I would probably do if I were in your shoes. Doing that you could look for a place close enough to a town for moteling it all or part of the time and if you wanted to do some camping out you should be able to do that on even a small chunk of BLM land.

thank you everyone she is a great person!

Also thank you topgun, i was looking at how the draw chances had changed since 2011-2014 i was shocked. i was also looking at 24 and was wondering if the south east portion of it has good goats where there's public access or if that isnt prime habitat and i should look at private. also i never noticed the 29-2 and am very interested! is there descent access for this location and habitat? it looks very hill. also when looking at mytopo maps it shows pink, yellow, and tan blocks, which of these are huntable in the 29-2 tags. also im having a horrid time wrapping my head around these roads, is there a way to tell if i can drive them without getting a ticket? im assuming state marked roads, and county rd XXX is more than likely fine but are the ones with just numbers ok? i also see dotted ones and im guessing those are off road trails?! thanks
