I see this thread dates back a ways and I'm late to the party. We do a fair amount of varmint hunting here in SD. To be honest, I'm more of a holdover guy than a dial guy...BUT...I'd say either a Leupold or Nightforce for dialing. Leupold gives you some budgeting options...I have several VX5HD(s) that I feel are great values. I have a VX6HD on a 22 creedmoor. I have a couple NXS 5.5-22x56 also...on a 7RUM and 6.5PRC. For me, for varmint hunting, I prefer the broad magnification range and large objective lenses regardless of brand.
