Help Me Legalize Semiauto Rifle Big Game Hunting In Pennsylvania

So now I am curious. With all the negative opinions, share documented increased firearm accidents deer hunting with a SA rifle.

If none, then it is a personal opinion. Do you really want personal opinions to dictate the hunting method? The bitchin on HT over Colorado ballot box hunting should be waking us all up to this slippery slope.

So what is the difference between a SA shotgun with high performance sabots and a SA rifle? According to a study, the shotgun is riskier under normal hunting conditions.

A SA rifle is no different. Do you actually think SA rifle hunters somehow change into completely out of control, blathering idiots, blindly lost control of all faculties, peeing down their legs? Seriously? If you don't like SA firearms, that's your choice. There is ZERO evidence of increased risk. This is no different than straight bows (non gender of course) to compounds. Then it was releases. Then crossbows. Now is SA rifles. Technology used for longer shots now under attack. Range finders should not be allowed. OMG Blue tooth technologies is from the devil. Its a choice not a requirement.

Let's solve this, iron sights patched round ball flintlocks only.

BTW, 18 years ago, PA hired Mountain Top Technologies to conduct a ballistics study (April 17.2097) to determine:

The current PA regulation that allows SA shotguns is based upon the last bullet point.

I don't have any plans to hunt PA. I don't see why someone wouldn't be able to use a semi auto rifle to hunt deer. There's no distinct advantage to using a semi auto rifle to hunt big game. With some of your responses, you'd think they're trying to legalize 50 cal machine guns. Limiting rifles to being bolt or single shot, but allowing semi auto shotguns to send 1oz slugs doesn't make sense.

If I had to be the unfortunate receiver of a stray bullet, I'd rather it was a .223 than a 1oz slug.

Yes they are. Based on the 10 minutes of research I did regarding hunting in PA. It looks like it was changed back in 2018.

You can use a semi auto shotgun so long as it's firing single projectile ammo (slug, not buckshot)

To expand - heres what he said about the incidents.

“You cannot deviate from the plan,” Cutts said. “The problems start when you see the deer coming out of a different area than you expected, then leave your location to get closer to the deer and suddenly the hunter is in the line of fire.”

I dont see an AR15 making that problem worse.

I grew up hunting in an area where semiautos are allowed (but shotgun only area). Most people are responsible, but certainly some are not. I don't think it requires a semiauto to be irresponsible with the firearm and shots taken.

I did see this video in the past which gives a bad feel for semiautos. Start at approximately 2:30 mark. Not sure why this guy is so popular.

It's people doing that kind of crap (then posting it to youtube!) that make everybody else look bad.
