Hammock?

Would I be crazy to use an ENO hammock while elk hunting this year? Its way lighter than a tent, and gets me off the ground. I could carry a small tarp in case of rain.


Anyone else use a hammock?

I have a Hennesy Hammock and it is great. I sleep better in the hammock than anything else. I have never gotten cold in mine. Easy to carry and light.

That is all i ever use unless I am above timberline. Make sure any tarp has enough coverage, and a warmer than normal pad is a must when using a hammock!

What would constitute as a "warmer than normal pad"?

I love using my hammock and much prefer it over a tent. I use an under quilt instead of a pad but if you have a double layer hammock you can use a pad pretty easily. You want to make sure you have something under you as you will lose heat that way very quickly.
