Had a fire the other night.

Man that's rough, our house caught on fire when I was in high school. Thankfully y'all weren't to hurt.
It may be possible to have your mounts redone if antlers aren't to bad .

Fire dept. thinks an electrical problem. Insurance company investigator is coming Sunday evening to try to pinpoint. State Farm has been fantastic so far.
I’m sorry for your loss. We have State Farm. We’ve never had a claim anywhere near a house but ours has always been easy to work with. I hope your experience with them continues.

We were on vacation to Northern California and got word our house caught on fire where we live near Cody WY. Pretty much going to be stripped down to the studs and rebuilt. Garage is a total loss. Mounts hides were ruined. Lot mounted pheasant, male sage hen and a pintail. Memories of each one. Praise God no one was home or hurt.
I been there unfortunately. Lost everything I had in a matter of seconds. Starting over sucks! I still look for shit I lost in that fire.

Being the Director of a Public Safety Department (Police & Fire), I can certainly relate to the structural & property damage a fire causes.
The first thing I always say is “I’m glad nobody was hurt” which is more than true, but I’m also aware the devastation losing property causes.
Very sorry !

Sorry for your loss! Hope & prayers for you and your family. While “things” are lost the memories and experiences will always be yours.

From your photo the antlers on those mounts don't look ruined, just the mount/capes? You could probably get them remounted with new donor capes. Another thing I've always wondered is if a good taxi could go from a shoulder mount to a euro for scenarios like this. Sorry for your losses.
Fire and restoration company said they would take them to the taxidermist and they could remount them. I hope so. I lost 3 birds to the high heat in the living room.

We're you charging any lithium batteries at the time? Seems to be a big cause of house fires now.
No we weren’t. Had a 18 V Milwaukee one on the charger in the shop, but fortunately it didn’t burn. Won’t be leaving them plugged in for extended periods of time anymore.

Sorry to hear. Glad no one was hurt and insurance is in place.

Living on a farm (barn) fire has been my lifetime worry. Can’t imagine someone’s nightmare with their house being lost. Sorry for your loss and hope things get taken care of quickly.

Moving mine from the.basement to the detached garage now. Thats an omen. Sorry about all your troubles @NECALI. Could've been way worse, thank god.

Man that is awful. So sorry for your loss. I couldn't imagine trying to replace everything i have right now... That would be a nightmare. Glad to hear everyone is safe. Things can be replaced at least!

Thanks again everyone. The investigator couldn’t pinpoint origin for sure, but has a strong thought on where it started. I can’t say yet, because he might have to come back out.
