After 12 days on the road visiting family and friends back in Oregon had a young juvenile grizz run across 1-90 between Huson and Frenchtown

my initial reaction when I saw it in the median running and I thought who the hell‘s giant dog got loose on the highway and then he came into our lane then intel that’s a grizzly and then hit the fence and started running towards a small residential area, I was like well that should get interesting. The young bear was heading south towards the Clark’s fork . Feels good to be back in Montana. Can’t wait to get home to Billings

Good thing they aren’t allowed on the other side of the Clark Fork. At least that’s what I keep telling myself!

It was the high light of a long drive home for sure , I had already drove past a dead cow moose , a dead beaver and a dead cow elk along I-90 so it was already a different drive with the different species of road kill than just your normal dead deer sighting

after I went from thinking it was a large dog to realization it was a bear , because he was smaller I started scanning for a sow or another cub , and didn’t see anything when he went through the fence on the south side of I-90 , I came to the conclusion he must have got run off earlier this spring by mom as she was having another cub or 2

I expect to see them when I’m running around the Beartooths south west of Billlings , but havnt spent anytime in the NW corner of MT so I wasn’t sure how often there seen up that way
