Got a problem and considering hanging up this handloading thing

I'd look at the dia of the expander plug. If it's undersized, the, the case mouth will shave some brass off the bullet going into the die. I don't think the crimp function has a thing to do with it. If you were getting into the crimp to far, it would wrinkle the shoulder just enough to keep the rounds from chambering in the rifle and you wouldn't be able to see it. Next thing I'd check is if I were starting the bullet straight as I could. Possible to shave off some brass it the bullet need's straightened up to much. In any case, so long as the round fires safely, there shouldn't be a problem other than in your mind!
