Goat tag area 323 MT

Also - bridge lake/ crow mtn area. I’ve heard the head of meatrack drainage is also good. I’ve only been over in that country on a goat hunt once but know over a dozen guys who’ve hunted it. I’d start at lambert and hunt before mid October.

Was with an experienced hunter who miffed on a real big goat the day we hunted on the head of lambert. Saw a real huge boar grizzly as well.

I also ran in to a grizz at the top of Lambert, nearly by the little lake looking down Hell Roaring. No trees, rifle strapped to my pack, 2 feet of snow. We kept real quiet.

Definitely a real deal full up chaps and all billy, planning on going scouting next month and then start the hunt end of September until I get it done. Fun hunts, shot a sheep in Alaska in 2004, thought that was tough until two years ago my buddy and nephew both drew in the crazy’s! Hell of a hunt in deep snow and steep country! They both had nanny tags, I’ve been putting in for 27 years and just drew, I’m jacked!

That’s the only part of that country I don’t like is the amount of bears, put in for the grizzly tag in Wyoming a couple years ago and drew the 112 spot but that didn’t work out, headed north to get that done in the next few years, thanks for the info!

I camped in 323 and hunted in 329. Awesome experience. Hope to do it again someday. I saw a lot of goats in 323 when I was scouting and hunting.
