Serial # 1088683 - manufacture date 1919

Fairly clean condition overall.

$500. Located in Billings, MT.

To the best of my knowledge (and I'm happy to be corrected on this) - these were 30-06. Originals were 30-03, but then the 30-06 was later adopted. There are no caliber designations on the barrel, just a stamp of "SA 6-19) just behind the front sight to show this was built in 1919.

It chambers and cycles a 30-06 round just fine, but I have not fired this rifle. This was one of my grandfather's.

That rifle is setup from the factory to accept a Pedersen device which would also allow it to fire .30 Pedersen pistol ammo in semi-auto mode. You can see the ejection port on the left side of the action.

Interesting. Never heard of a Pedersen device. Learn something every week. Thanks for the information.
