A had an appointment to go to yesterday morning in Duluth so I took advantage of some free time in the afternoon and went fishing with a buddy out on Superior.

I would throw the laker back. Too greasy and fishy tasting off Lake Superior. Boring to catch too. A waste of bait. Superior kings are okay eating but I find the ocean ones are better. However Lake Superior kings are MUCH feistier than ocean salmon. A seven or eight pound ocean king we called "shakers" because they barely made the rod wiggle when they hit the bait. Here kings that size about rip the rod out of the holder!

No longer living in MN but I sure miss the smoked whitefish from Kendalls!
