Just had our meeting in Arco with f&g. Finally on the right track in our region, proposals( which mean done ) cut general deer season down to two weeks, as for ATVs whew!! what a mess, the ban on trail travel, seems like a joke why? because game retrival will be allowed, and they cannot control atvs being used to pack in camps, or transport unarmed hunters, so your buddy can hike back to the truck and pack the rifles back into the camp or use a horse to get back to where the atvs are parked, any one with a splinter in his finger may(not sure at this time)be able to con a doctor into a handicapped status, so he can haul all his buddies rifles while they haul in camp on atvs, a dozen different scenerios were presented and few answered. it's gonna take some time but their on the right track. Bottom line answer was it will be up to local officers and magistrates to determine if you are hunting off your ATV, on a trail, what a nightmare for our co's.. h2m

Finally, somebody with the same common sense opinion of this mess.

That was the point that I was trying to make earlier.

Anybody that thinks that this is going to change much, if anything at all, hasn't put much thought into the process.

Definitely sounds like the rules are way too complicated. Would be simpler to just say no ATV's in that area, period. No game retrieval, no nothing. Then a guy that doesn't mind hiking knows he can go there and not have to compete with all the ATV hunters. I suppose it is better than nothing though. Even if they're packing camp in with ATV's, at least they won't be able to ruin everybody's hunting by riding in to their hunting area in the morning.
