I’m not the best bow hunter in the woods, and it seems with archery tackle my luck is always bad. I miss chip shots or they just stay out of range. I shot a very nice buck one day and had a good blood trail until the arrow came out and searched for two days but couldn’t find him. This past Saturday I went to my stand in my honey hole purposely left it alone until the last few weeks and the wind hasn’t been right. Saturday morning we had a SW wind in stand at 7:10 and by 7:35 he’s dead. A couple does came out in front of me it was overcast and still kinda dark and a minute later here he came grunting just stopped him, then hit the horns and he came in on a string from 120 yards to 30, he went twenty yards and died. I saw the shot was back I guess I got a little excited and was kicking myself watching him and he tipped over, I had hit the artery and he bled out very quickly, I’ve shot deer in the lungs with a gun and had them go farther. He’s a cool 6, 4 on one side which makes him legal and just two on the other.

Ya doing it with the bow is a fun and rewarding experience, sitting in the stand is a great way to spend a morning or an evening, congrats on the success. I would aka venture to guess anyone who has hunted long enough has missed a chip shot or had a lost deer, sucks, but just happens
