Finished my Sauer 7-08

Thanks everyone. It’s a joy to shoot with the suppressor, but I’m struggling to find a factory ammo it really likes. Wanted to shoot ttsx, but it’s around 1.5 MOA with a 10 shot group. Accubond and ELDX are 2 MOA! American whitetail is surprisingly the best at 1 MOA, but I really don’t want to use it for elk. Going to order some Etips to try. Running out of ideas for factory options that I would prefer to use. Wish I reloaded so I could try some hammer hunters. Any other ideas on what to try?
Ive shot only hornady interlocks and speer hotcors for a long time. Below is a 180 grain interlock i shot out of 300 win mag. At 200 yards it went lengthwise down an antelope, went through the front shoulder, all the ribs, around the back quarter and stopped in the fat under the hide just before the tail. It now weighs 168 grains. im sure this next one will get the internet trolls after me:

Last year i shot an elk at 140 yards that was facing me using 270 win with hornady american white tail 130 grain interlock bullet. It went through the heart, and all the way down into the intestines. Elk dropped fast and did not get back up.

I find the flat base lead core bullets shoot really tight groups in my ruger rifles. Cant ever get the boat tails to group as tight. Im not worried about it. Interlocks do just fine for me and always will. its rare to have one stop in an animal and the exit holes are usually large enough to drop a 12 gauge shotgun shell into.

Great to hear about the interlock. For $29 a box it sure would be nice to use them for everything!

I was looking at choice ammo and considering ordering the 140 partition and 139 LRX to try. I was also going to try and call Steve at Hammer to see he knows anyone loading the 131's. Sticking with the hornady whitetail would save me a bunch of cash though!!
Its all I buy for factory ammunition. I handload some calibers. Everything factory i get the american white tail. It clobbers everything, and shoots one hole in every ruger rifle ive put it through. I have no interest in paying way to much for harder bullets that might not expand as well. this is the part where the internet trolls will come out of the woodwork:

The old time muzzle loaders once showed me how pure lead balls "self lubricate" when they punch through barriers. They are onto something. Soft lead wil stay together and slide itself right through steel plates with enough velocity. I suspect the same principle applies to an expanded cup and core bullet when that exposed mushroomed lead hits bone. Ive certainly never had one fragment even shooting game at 50 yards with interlocks in 300 win mag.
