Took a couple days to go test the new Tipi tent out in some almost winter conditions. Dipping well below freezing we were very comfortable with the little wood stove cranking out the heat. At thirty pounds pole included it will make us a little more mobile hunting the back country with the horses.

This is the one I purchased used only twice for $500 off of a guy I know. http://www.tipitent.com/outfitter_tipi.htm Very user friendly lots of room and 2 guys can have it up and running with the stove installed in under 10 minutes. 4 guys and lots of gear easy. I'm getting a small folding fire box with a screen cover made so we don't have to pack a stove up high. For a base camp with a wood stove it retains the heat real good.
Stakes need to be upgraded for strength as the original bend in tough ground. Need double wall pipe through the top but single wall for the better part. As for the little tracks they didn't worry us as much as the bull moose that trailed us through about 3/4s of a mile of thick bush. We were checking out a nasty thick valley following a game trail and at times he was only 30 yrds behind us grunting the whole time. He had the horses worked up real good, they probably thought they were going to get lucky.
