Did some broadhead testing over the Easter weekend on the local hog population with the Viper Trick 125gn up front - complete arrow weight 496gn. I believe I’ve worked out my set up for the Sept adventure.
Shot a 30kg (so 60lb) sow front on from 20 yards - the arrow zipped through her that quickly I thought I’d missed. She ran towards me and propped at 3 yards. I could see the dribble of blood on front of shoulder, she soon got the wobbles and fell over. It was a full front to rear penetration, exiting her back ham. I figure that’s a good 3 foot of penetration. I would have liked to cross paths with a big mountain boar but it wasn’t to be. I did whistle / call in a red fox that sat on his backside at what I guessed 24 yards. Settled the 20 pin on his head and released. The broadhead creased him on the forehead - BUGGAR.
