field judging shiras moose

Does anybody have any tips on field judging moose
my friend has a tag.I have been looking around all summer and the best moose i can find
has 12 points on the left side and 13 on the right
im guessing hes mid 40,s wide, palms look to be fairly long.The one thing im sure about is how to judge the width.thankyou

Moosie has posted a formula for that very thing somewhere on this board. Something to do with the length of ear or distance between eyes.

Just based upon your description he sounds like a good one. With that many points on each palm I'd almost bet he's got most of the other things you look for.

Well that moose no longer lives! The guy with the stupid govenors tag killed him last night.Of course that is two weeks before anybody else could hunt.I lied though he was only a 13x11 and i guess he scored about 165 b&c.I hate rich people they ruin it for the every day guy.

So if a not so wealthy person or a poor person got the tag somehow, like in a raffle, then that would be somehow different?
