I want to give ERSS some props.

I ordered a rangefinder from him last week at a very, very good price. I regretted having waited so long because I figured that I wouldn't get it in time for MT elk/deer archery opener (tomorrow). I mailed my check from Helena last Friday, knowing that it was a long government weekend with Labor Day the next monday.

But low and behold I open up my mailbox today and there was my rangefinder, a Nikon Riflehunter 550. Sweet baby james was I happy. I promptly drove 15 miles out of town and put a stalk on a dinker antelope buck and got busted at 71.5 yards...prior to today, who knows what distance I would have made up to satisfy my story.

Thanks, ERSS.

ps- For anyone looking for a rangefinder that doesn't want to shell out $500+ for a Lecia, the RH550 is great. Ranges quickly and has a very easy to use menu.

Thanks Smalls, for the kind words...Glad it got there in time. Looking forward to the pics and story on your hunt.

Would be glad to get prices for any Hunt Talkers on rangefinders, scopes, binocs, laser sights, magazines, just about any hunting or shooting gear. If I don't have it, I can get it in a week or less.

Pretty confident that I can beat just about any price out there.

What can you do for me on a Leupold Windriver 15-45x60 spotter? I have found it in a kit for 300 and was wondering if thats competitive, or its just a small town ripping us off?

Leupold Sequoia Wind River 15-45x60 spotter kit ( model# 55886, scope, tripod and protective case ). It is the straight tube version.

I can get that for you for $265, and shipping from ID to WY will be pretty cheap. Would take about a week to get it in, then 2-3 days to you.

Also come in an angled tube version, that runs $12 more

Let me know if interested, Thanks

sreekers....you didn't ask for my opinion, but i'm going to share it anyway on that particular piece of glass. Decent for the money IMO, but the eye relief is very critical and unforgiving...ie very small eye box.

ERSS,
what brands do you deal?

Went to Cabelas last weekend to get the Nikon 550. Took a look throught it an was not impressed. It was very dark. Now, I'm a Nikon guy and have a lot of Nikon glass but I couldn't pull the trigger on this one. My buddy said it must be me cause he bought it so maybe it was my eyes.
Checked out the Leupolds up to the RX IV and didn't like them either. Left the store determined to buy the Leica 900 another day. Maybe ERSS can beat the $525 NIB on ebay??? If so, I'll be in touch.

MNH-
Wish I had a place to get wholesale deals on Leica, if so..I would jump on it and let you know. I will keep looking. Hoping to find someone at this years shot show, if not before.

TB-
I can get just about anything..Nikon, Leupold, Bushnell, Burris, Weaver, Zeiss, some Pentax, etc. and all of the cheaper brands. Not able to get Kowa or Minox yet.

Just got some of the Bushnell 1500 and Nikon 1200 rangefinders as well. Hard to beat the Leica for sure, But if not willing or able to put out the cash, the Nikons are a great choice in my opinion.

If your looking for something and want a price, just shoot me a PM, be glad to see what I can do

MN,

The riflehunter is a bit dark, but it hasn't hampered its use for me including evenings and in thick timber. Don't get me wrong, if I'd of had $5-600 to spend I'd have gotten the Leica too.

When I looked at the different models in my price range, all seemed "dim". The thing that sold me on the RH550 was how easy it was to use. Easier than the Bushnell models and WAY easier than the Leupold (and I like Leupy glass).
