I was looking for a decent and sturdy mounting bracket to hang my european elk Mount recently and was having trouble finding something of good quality. Many of them seemed fine to hold the weight of a whitetail, but I just couldn't find anything I would trust for an elk. So I decided to make my own. Works quite well! I made a plate to screw onto the skull and welded a rod on the plate that turns up into the skull to hold the weight. Bracket turns left and right and up and down.
