Early season pattens?

Heading out to the high country next week for early season mule deer. I have hunted mule deer before during rifle season, but never this early. I have talked to the bio. for this zone and have already set my game plan for glassing in the mornings, trying for some stalks mid-day while they are bedded and then hunting over water in the evenings. Does anyone have any better thoughts or last minutes tips for early season patterns? I am worried about the heat, but I have watched Randy on several shows hunting in August and September. Any thoughts would be nice.

Should start to cool off somewhat anytime now, but next week is supposed to be warm again.

Thanks for the thoughts. The Bio. seemed to think this was the best plan and so I guess I will try it out for this trip. Using it as a scouting trip as well. I will be back in October with my son for rifle season.
