Eagle theif...

Pretty neat-

the last two winters we collected road kill deer and put in the field across the road from the house, two years ago, had as many as ten Bald Eagles eating at one time, last year four at a time. This was in northern Missouri.

That's cool; we have two pairs in one of our local lakes as well as several pairs of osprey. It's good to see them coming back, especially the osprey. They were gone for so long, but still have a long way to go to be as numerous as when I was a kid.
My dad was sitting in his little swamp boat fishing for bluegills, caught a small one and while lifting it to remove the hook a great blue heron landed on the rim of the boat and started stabbing at the swinging fish with that 5 inch dagger they call a beak. My dad had to grab his short paddle and fend him off, because that heron was determined to have the fish.
