Has anyone here purchased from or shot a rifle with a Douglas barrel on it?
I am going to do a build in the spring and their price is hard to beat.
Thanks

My smith uses the air-gauged XX barrels. I've had a 98 Mauser rebarrelled in 35 Whelen & a Ruger M77 barreled in 7x57AI. Both shoot sub-moa. I have no complaints and only praise on them.

Have a 340 Weatherby mag and 270 Weatherby mag with Douglas Premium (XX) barrels that shoot 1.00 inch or less groups. GJ

Douglas barrels have all shot good for me. If you aren’t in a rush to get your barrel in hand wait till Black Friday and there’s usually sales on them. Redhawkrifles.com had a good sale last year if I remember right

I hadn't planned to order from whomever, till March 2020.
But the black Friday sale thing is worth checking out.
Douglas manufacturing is around 4+ hour drive from me, as I can tell.
I had planned on going there to personally place my order and drop off my action for installation.
I wanted to install the barrel myself. But with their prices, and certainly thier experience and expertise, I think I'll just pay them to do it.
They are around $150.00 cheaper than most on average.

Thanks for the good word guys.
I know they were well known for accuracy in the 70s and into the early 90s.
Good to hear they are still doing good work.

Yup, I've got a 375 H&H with a Douglas barrel. Shoots great!

Douglas makes a top notch barrel for a hunting rifle. I have them on several rifles and am very pleased with them. If you show up in person at their shop they will usually offer to give you a nice tour of their operations.
