Man I was so bummed to read this first thing this morning! Probably got a little too interested in mountaineering after reading about the '96 Everest disaster. Have been loosely following this guys exploits since watching his documentary.

Quite shocking. Really sad. Can't imagine anyone made it.
While shocking, these top tier mountaineers are unfortunately engaged in a game of roulette similar to Alex Honnold is playing. It's kind of a matter of time before the chamber isn't empty.

100% agreed. I certainly had no ill intent in posting it, just my own interest in the situation. Sorry if I offended anyone.
These mountaineers sure are a different breed, don’t know why it’s been bugging me all day. Jon Krakauers book is a pretty fascinating read into the helpless feeling that is emergencies at high altitude.

That guy was amazing, top tier human for sure. Watching his movie, I was thinking the whole time that no one can climb that many of the 8,000ers and cheat fate for as long as he had already. He earned a place in history for sure.
