Doe looking for a place to give birth?

I saw a muley doe in the backyard yesterday. She looked healthy except that she seemed to have a weird gait and she seemed frantic. She would run 20-30 yds and then put her nose to the ground like she was looking for food but never actually took a bite. Then would go on alert and run a bit. We see deer here fairly often and something was just off with her. It got me to wondering if she was about to give birth and was frantically looking for the perfect spot to drop her fawn. Thoughts?
