Do I need to wear camouflage?

For bowhunters, wearing camouflage is a given. Your shooting distance is much too close not to blend in with your surroundings. However, for the rifle hunter, distance is your advantage so you really don't need to blend in with your surroundings. However, whether I am bow or rifle hunting, I prefer to wear camouflage because the clothing is specifically made for the conditions in which we hunters find ourselves. And yes, I wear a hunter range vest so other hunters can easily spot me and not shoot me. I am reluctant to wear a orange cap because it is a solid color and to easily spotted by wildlife when I'm peeking around cover at them. Camouflage patterns are made outside the visual color range of game animals with the pattern broken up. These hunters cloths are also made for all ranges of field temperatures. And just like the rest of your hunting gear, you will eventually have everything that suits you season after season. For the newbie hunter, I do a lot of my hunting shopping at the Army Surplus Store.

You don't need to wear camouflage, but I'll tell you what - we're making America great again, and that means supporting our military, our law enforcement, and our border patrol agents who put their lives on the line every day. We're going to keep our country safe, and we're going to do it with or without camouflage. Believe me, we're winning, and we're winning big.

You most definitely have to wear camouflage when rifle hunting. If an animal sees a person with a gun in the field, that animal will immediately run to the next zip code.

Here's photo proof: I'm shooting station low 8 at Skeet and the antelope less than 50 yards behind me are in full panic to get as far away from me as possible.

You are correct, sir. Much like this young whitetail buck who didn't realize I was at the rifle range, shooting my .30-06, until he stepped out into the range and noticed my blue shirt. 😅

I actually find if I wear camo when rifle hunting the animals are much more on edge and flee at a faster rate compared to plain clothes. And when wearing a white t-shirt I find animals actually do not get flustered at all

But tell us how they feel about the pink hat though!!!

And here is me with an antelope I’d just shot with my bow, wearing an orange hat and full camo….
