Deer hunting in the D11 D13 D15 zones!

Hi I'm from Sweden.
I grew up with hunters in my family and I was out hunting in the past.
With my work I moved here to USA CA in 1993 and I think it's time for me to be a first time CA hunter now.

I'm about to get a D11 or D13 license valid to 12/31/18 and I saw some good advice from someone regarding D11 only having small areas where you can actually use firearms and I also read that you can hunt in D13 & D15 with a D11 license or is that only for bow hunting?

There is no solid info that tells specifically where you can use firearms in these zones and when.

Is there maps of where you can hunt with Firearms in the D11 D13 zones and when, and dose anyone have good tips on where to go in these zones to have a good first time experience?

I would really love to get some advice from someone on this.

D11,D13,D15 can all be hunted on the same tag. The tag is an antlered deer tag only. The season ends on 11/8 though.
