Customs office in MT?

Does anyone know if there is a customs office in Bozeman or somewere close by? My dad needs to take his rifle to be registered so he get it back into the country with out any hassle.

Not sure, I will call them though. I'm hoping. From what I can find, the nearest customs office is in Great Falls.

I's pretty simple. I think the form is number 4457? The Customs Officer verifies the serial number and that's about it. When I went to Africa, I had the scope and everything else with a serial number on it listed on the form. It verifies that you took the items with you out of the country so there is no duty/import issues when you bring them back. Cameras, scopes, binos, etc were all listed on my form and verified by the CO at the same time as the rifle.

Cali I know what I need, but I don't know where the nearest custom office is located in MT other than Great Falls which I found on the net, and thats about a 3.5 hour drive. I was hoping that there was an office in Bozeman or closer to take care of it.

Bambi,

Contact the Great Falls office and see where they have custom officers in the State. I think that Butte is a port of entry and should have some kind of a customs office there.
