Is that a hickory nut in the lower crop? I'm curious how it got past the shell.

No hickory in Minnesota that I know of. More likely hazelnut

A couple of pheasants. Standard food plus some greens, a grasshopper and what I believe are buckthorn berries.

Chest grass seed, grass shoots, forb shoots, and crested wheatgrass seed. And a big ol hopper dropper.

That would make more sense. Hickory appear to only be in the far SE corner of MN, along the river corridor.
