I had a bunch of 1-2 foot tall apple tree seedlings delivered this spring that i potted up and kept here at the house. I was keeping them here so i could water and fertilize them and prune them into the shape i needed. I planted half of them (the biggest ones)this fall, the other half i buried flush in the pots and fenced them in on my hunting land. I will bring them back home next spring to care for them again until they tall enough to be deer-proof, or the deer will chew the crap out of them. I had 2 of the smallest left here at home because they didnt fit in the truck last time i went up to the land and figured i would just let them sit out in the yard and probably die from the freeze above ground. I was looking at them in late november feeling bad for them and decided to bring them in the house and see what happened. They already were dormant for the winter when i brought them in and didnt know what to ecpect. It wasnt 2 weeks and they were budding out and one of them actually blossomed out and they opened just today! :) Kind of neat, I am surprised as hell the little 3 foot tree actually even blossemed! It will be interesting to see how much they will grow over winter, poor things are so messed up they think its april now.
Wife isnt so happy about having 2 apple trees sitting in the kitchen basking in the light of the patio doors :D I told here, hey, you got plants why cant i?
