I noticed that the spike was holding his own against the coyote until he either got timid or tired. This video reinforces the ideal of never giving up.

I never thought a coyote could bring down a buck. I knew they killed deer by ganging-up while in packs, but a lone coyote......wow! That was a big coyote.

While watching the video I was wondering why the guy filming didn't shoot the yote........I guess they didn't have a rifle with them. Also, I bet they were surprised that the coyote was able to get the upper hand on the deer.
