Cow Elk Hunt - Montana HD 411 or 511_Big Snowy Mountains

Has anyone hunted elk (bulls and/or cows) in the Lewis and Clark NF (Big Snowy Mountains) within HDs 411 or 511 in Montana? If so, any tips on access...looks like roads into there are limited. I know there is the Red Hill Access via RMEF on the east end for hiking in as well. Thanks!

I had the access a few years back but couldn't draw the tag.Think if you ask some ranchers they may allow you thru their land but not on it to hunt.Thats how I had access;pretty bummed when I didn't draw the archery tag
