Steven Rinella has donated one of his custom-made rifles to be auctioned off for Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. This is a rifle that he featured on the first seasons of his show The Meat Eater. 7mm mag. Left-handed. Check details at website above.

That is a good cause, but I always thought it was kind of cool that he used his own rifle on all his hunts, rather than a new sponsor gun covered in stickers every season.

But then again, I tend to get too sentimental about such things..

when i first saw that he was donating his rifle I was excited and then I remembered he's a southpaw and was instantly bummed. Lefties need a their auction/raffle too so there is a silver lining.

Cool thing he's doing. As was suggested on his FB page, I'd bet a raffle ($10/ticket) would have made more money.

Maybe, 1 pointer, until you consider that only 10 percent of people are southpaws. Cuts down on your market considerable. Looks like people are interested but it's still below the "market value".

I'd be in for a couple of $10 tickets as I have a lefthanded 7yo son. Likewise, I think more righthanders would take a $10 chance at winning a 'famous' rifle, even if they can't use it, vs. ponying up the $$ for it in an auction. Either way, it'll raise some money and is a good gesture on his part.
