Colorado unit 12 first rifle

This is short notice as it is an afterthought. I am on my way with my 14 year old son for his cow elk hunt that starts wednesday. If we are fortunate enough to get a elk for him would it be worth purchasing a OTC Bear tag and set back and watch the carcass for a couple of days? I know this is a good method in September archery help but wasn't sure about mid october. What are your thought

Agree, you should see bears during first season.

Definitely worth it. I would have a bear tag in my pocket this year of all years.
