Does anyone know how the deer in the Gunnison fared after last winter? I am looking at units 53, 54, and 65 for next year and am trying to figure out if the winter kill turned out to be as bad as some people were predicting. I plan on talking to some biologists this winter, sometimes its just nice to hear from hunters as well.

I live in Gunnison so I'll offer up my $0.02. I ventured to one of my favorite spots in 67 right after Thanksgiving. This place should have been crawling with deer, but I saw only a handful. The weather has been mild this fall, so I hope the migration is slow to get started, but my gut tells me the winter kill from last year was bad. I might try to get out again before Christmas to see if the the numbers get better.
