The leftover doe tags in zones 29 and 103 have been eating at my brain for some time now. Question is, is it worth going through landowner information for those two zones, or is all the private land there tied up in leases or exorbitant trespass fees? Thanks to my GPS software I can see the landowner info for those areas. Anyone ever been successful finding friendly landowners in those zones? If so, I may go for it before the tags are gone. Not seeking specific information, just direction. None of our tags were drawn in 03, 301 this year and ended up hunting elk on a leftover tag south of Craig on Jensen. Finally got some action last day and my buddy harvested a cow. Sure would be nice to put some venison in the freezer.
Another random option would be elk in 104, 105, and 106, but deer seems like a better bet statistically, and finding a landowner to let me hunt elk is going to be much harder.
