Well, hunters, anybody headed out to hunt near Cow Creek, on the west slope of Colorado, be advised that a fire is raging there. It has jumped to 600 acres in size over night. They pulled the kid and his crew out of North Carolina to fight it. Fire season is not over til the snow flies! 🔥 🔥 🔥 🌲🌲

More red flag warnings for fire weather here tomorrow, along w winter weather advisory elsewhere in the state @ the same time. That's why it is so hard to answer the forum question, "What will the weather be like for my CO hunt?"

Went thru Flagstaff, Az yesterday. Passed a grass fires that was widespread and did not involve trees. Checked into motel and another small fire 160 acres in the trees was smoking up the air.

It’s drier than a popcorn fart over most of Western Colorado. I hope we get moisture for hunting and fire suppresion.
