It started years ago with the 222 Remington. Then I found a 22 Hornet, then the 7X33, then the 218 Bee and finally the most rare, 25-20 Duluxe. The earliest 7X33 had the ugly light stock with the shoe polish finish. Recently I found another nice wood stocked 7X33 and added it to the collection.

It wasn’t intentional, but as I found more of the rare calibers, I kept looking, hoping some day to find a 25-20. When I did find it, I was excited and the fact it was a deluxe was even better…

Back in 1970 i was employed as a profesional hunter, using a 270 brno but i could only carry 60 rounds in a sock(we all went thru this phase of carrying the least weight possible), my partner on the block(two hunters per block but we rarely saw each other), suggested i get a 222. 24 hrs later after a visit to Christchurch i was the proud owner of a L461 vixen, shot many an animal including red deer and tahr but being a rough bugger i ended up moving it on. Fast forward to 2023 i ended up living in Oz and saw a vixen for sale at less than half price what you would pay in NZ. Happy to carry it around.

Man, i've been close to getting a rifle with a soul but haven't done it yet.. Cool stuff. Would love to thumb through your pile of classy rifles.

An L46, vixen, or A1 in PPC or ARC (obviously aftermarket barrel if ARC) chambering has been on my want list for a while..
