Cold Weather Hiking Boots

I've been using a pair of cheaper insulated hunting boots for cold and deep snow, but my feet just can't take it any longer.
For those who use pacs from Kenetrek, Schnee's, what's a reasonable amount of miles you can do in them before it gets uncomfortable?
Would I be better off doing something like an insulated Mountain Extreme?

don't go more than 400-600 grams of thinsulate if your hiking a lot.

I have a pair of Schnee's for sitting around calling yoties or walking around looking for rabbits in snow. I can walk all day in them. My legs will give out from post-holing or snowshoeing before my feet do. My feet never get cold and that makes me happy. :hump:

I'd think the Kenetrek are just as good.

Got some Kenetrek Grizzly packs 10 yrs ago and have never been cold in them. Like -20's. I do get cold feet now,but not in these boots with thick wool socks.
They are more like wearing hunt boots. Almost as stable as my Lowa Tibets.
I wear them all winter here in NM. I just switch liners. Like night and day compared to the good ole trusty Sorrels I have had since 1975....lol boy do those chain soles slip.I wore them one day since I have had my Kenetreks and they have sat in the closet since.
Sending them in for D-ring repair in spring. The soles are hardly worn for all the use.Original. A 10 winter boot IMHO.
I almost got Schnee's but got a deal from Kenetrek that year.

I have had Schnees for 22 years, had them rebuilt twice.

Love wearing them, great boot to hike in, no from off in performance for me from a regular hunting boot. I actually look forward to it getting cold enough to wear them in November.
