There are a couple ways Colo could potentially reduce point creep for elk. As Lopehunter mentioned: "If you want to reduce point creep for all but the elite hunts then support changing the law so that if you obtain a Colorado tag then your points for that species resets to ZERO, Draw a tag? Zero. Leftover tag? Zero. OTC tag? Zero. Landowner tag? Zero. Win a tag or buy one in auction? Zero."
The 2nd way to reduce pt creep in Colo would be to limit more (if not all) elk units in Colo to a draw. That way all tags issued in Colo burn pref pts. Currently there are a lot more OTC elk units in Colo than limited units. I'm not exactly sure how long Colo will be able to continue OTC elk tags. There may be a point where there are so many hunters and so few elk that the CPW may wake up and change. Obviously it's great for those that like to hunt Colo elk every year but there is only a limited supply of elk and it isn't too terribly fun hunting with elk hunters literally over every hill!
