I've managed to get 4 days free next week before I meet up with friends for our annual backpacking trip. (The perks of being a HS Spanish teacher and marrying a wonderful woman!) I'm looking to OTC archery hunt this fall. I'm torn between units 45 and 751. Hunting for meat and the experience. I am a midwesterner living in the wrong state and I am preparing daily to get into high altitudes to chase elk. Not looking for any secrets, just any insights or info on these two units and/or scouting them. I know 45 doesn't have the most elk or hunters, but getting into high altitudes is a passion of mine- after bowhunting.
