Chainsaw On Wheels

Buckthorn is nasty. I worked for a similar company for a few years in central MN and we kept busy all winter doing buckthorn removal. Don’t skimp on spraying/stump treating. That stuff will return with a vengeance if left untreated after mulching/mowing/cutting.

DNR forester just swung by this morning to validate work done to date for cost sharing and said he'd get me setup on a new cost share work order for a heavy dose of herbicide over the next couple years.

I sprayed a lot of triclopyr last year and will be for the next few years as well i'm sure.. in spots its like a carpet of buckthorn sprouts right now. If I had to do it over, I would have basal bark sprayed everything to kill it before being mulched.

Another Idea:

Swinging a brush cutter for a few hours is rough on the lower back if you're over forty. I'd pay someone.
