CCM Tikka for sale

Selling this CCM built Tikka chambered in 7mm-08.
Build list is as follows:

• Tikka T3x
• X-Caliber barrel 20" fluted 1:8 twist 5/8"-24 threaded muzzle
• Bedded Stocky's carbon fiber sporter
• Mesa bottom metal
• Fluted bolt
• Mountain Tactical bolt release and recoil lug

I've gone back and forth on whether or not to sell this rifle because I like it so much. It balances very well, and dry weight on it is 6lbs. With a reasonable scope you're looking at roughly 7.5 lb.

The stainless X-caliber barrel is hand lapped, and break in has been completed. I use X-Caliber almost exclusively and they have all shot exceedingly well.

The trigger is a crisp 2.5 lb

The metal is finished in KG Gunkote. It is a thinner coating than Cerakote so you retain the butter smooth bolt you expect from Tikka. Instead of being a ceramic urethane, Gunkote is a moly resin epoxy. It still retains great corrosion and abrasion protection comparable to Cerakote.

The Stocky's stock is finished in H-series Cerakote. It was bedded with Marine-Tex. The barrel is free-floating.

You could expect to have $3k into having this rifle built, I'm asking $2,300 +shipping to your FFL. Sales tax applicable if in NV.

Damn, don’t ever build one in a .257 Weatherby. Or at least please don’t show it. It’s the only missing bore I care about in the safe and to fill it would be a shame.

Only 4 things that keep me from telling you to ship it to me.

1) My wife's hold on the finances..
Ain't no way I can convince her I NEED a $2,300 rifle...

2) The barrel length. Ok for someone who wants to run it suppressed. I'd just like to get a little more velocity out of it.

3) 1:8 twist. It's a 7mm-08.. Why twist it for a 180gr or up bullet weight? Is it free bored for the heavy bullets?
To me, the sweet spot for the case capacity is 120-150gr.

4) While I love your work & attention to detail, I gotta ask...
What the heck is up with the large diameter at the muzzle??
Just doesn't blend in well with the contour of the barrel.

Don't take any of this as negative, I'm just an old nit picky @$$...

I’m still working on #1, too!

2. With the short actions are you really giving up enough velocity to matter for standard hunting distances or are you just chasing speed? My model seven in 7-08 has an 18 inch barrel from the factory and I haven’t had any performance issues (max ~350 yards)

3. This one is interesting to me, does the faster twist hurt traditional loads (120-150)? I thought it would just open up options if someone wanted to play with something like a 155 terminal ascent or 160 accubonds

4. I thought the flare at the end was to help shoulder a suppressor if someone wanted to run one, could be off on that one though!

1) I can't fix that.

2) you're only losing 40fps from a standard 22" barrel. Ballistically speaking, that's nothing.

3) 1:8 at 7mm-08 speeds will stabilize everything from 120 gr up to 180. Not a handicap.

4) muzzle diameter is .630" the flare allows for use of 5/8-24 accessories.

Anyone is more than welcome to have a rifle built to order.

1:9, finished at 22".
And sending you my reamer & action.
Actually looking to get rid of the barrel nut.

Not much a 308 can do that the 7mm-08 can't.

And 7mm-08 is better at distance.

If you start on the "heavier bullet" kick, then I'll point out that Berger's recommended twist rate for their 195gr EOL bullet is 1:9.

With the 1:8 twist, Paul did you can pretty much shoot everything but the 197gr Sierra MatchKing.
