Carnivore Diet Options While Hunting

Pretty much the exact same experience as Brockel. Did it for 90+ days Jan - mid April. Came off of it a few weeks ago and got a severe migraine the second week. Normally am good for about a migraine every couple of weeks, but did not have one the entire time on carnivore. Will definitely be doing it again. Never felt or slept better.

It definitely changed my sleep for the better. I use to sleep terrible. Now I hit the pillow and I’m out until 4:30 am like clock work

I wouldn't say I've done "carnivore" the entirety. I've mixed in some vegetables and eat a lot more fruit. I've cut out a ton of shit though sweets, high carbed foods, alcohol. Since January 1st I'm down 28lbs, my overall mood, joints, sleep, mental clarity. Have all increased quite a bit. This weekend I had a couple cocktails and some pizza and thought I was literally gonna die the next day. It's pretty wild what we put in our bodies for fuel.

I don't know how or what I'm gonna do come archery season but my plan is to continue to try and maintain this form of a "diet" but to a point where protein bars, almonds and dried fruit and things of that can get me through a trip.

How long til you didn't crave the junk and beer?

I do jerky for my entire hunting trips. It gets a bit old but it keeps it simple and no cooking for me.

Carnivore diet is great. I literally ate only rib eyes, salt and water for 60 days. Felt amazing - no brain fog or upset stomach. It is too hard for my lifestyle to maintain and I also want other food. I highly recommend for people trying to lose weight.

I haven't done carnivore but have seen a lot of videos on it. Why is it always ribeyes?

Rib eyes for the fat ratio and they are delicious. It is crucial to get a lot of fat while on the diet. Too much protein and too little fat can make you sick. If you are on a budget get ground beef 70/30 if you can find it. Organ meats like liver, if you can stomach it, are great for carnivores as well.

Chuck roast too I'd imagine.

I’m sure it’s already been said, but pork rinds are a great option.

Also, I did a couple batches of homemade salami and pepperoni using Umai dry bags. Can go much longer than summer sausage without refrigeration and a nice change of pace. Used 70% ground elk and 30% ground pork belly.

I also ate a lot of Duke’s Sausages and Moon Cheese back in my keto days.
