I LOVE the idea of taking the anti's money, then going and shooting a bear anyway.
I wonder whether or not any "agreement" can really prevent you from using a government issued tag.

An agreement made is legally binding on verbal only in most states so they could than sue you for breach of contract

Like others said. That would fund quite a few bear tags elsewhere. Wonder how airtight there paper work is. Sell it to them. Pick up a replacement tag? Or take the $2k and hire or guide others to ensure tags are filled.

I don’t think there is a number where I would stop hunting, but there may be tags I would sell for $2000.

I drew a very mediocre mule deer tag this year. Somewhat illogically, I would not have sold it for $2000. I might have thought it over, but I think I’d have kept it. Now for the illogical part. I absolutely would not pay $2000 for that tag. Logically I would pay almost as much as I would sell it for. I guess I’m illogical.

while legal, actually getting a lawyer to touch that is an entirely different matter. If you've deep enough pockets and want to prove a point/principle it could be done. Most won't touch it as that 2k won't even pay the retainer fees.... Yes, there are small claims but outside the verbal agreement what actual damages occurred? This is more akin to a FB deal gone sideways.

In CO/WY at least, that verbal agreement means almost 0. Myself and 15 other's lost far more than that with both verbal/written contracts via a Automotive guy out of Cheyenne who maliciously used Mechanics Liens against customers for work he never did. I was a lucky one and got my property back while most of the other's have nothing.

LE passed it off as civil. The retainer fee's were well over 20k/each even on a class action suit. Given the dudes a broke dick, actually recovering anything was unlikely.
