Found a sweet spot of state land last year. It’s only about 30-40min from my buddies house n then another 30-40 min of hiking to get where I want to hunt. I know that’s not that bad especially being able to shower n all at my buds. Just miss some of the “camping out” aspect of an out of state hunt. Is it legal to pitch a tent on state blocks of land?

As long as you have your state use permit (which is a required purchase with your hunting license) you are good to go camping on state land.
