What are some good campgrounds near Casper? Need to park a 30' trailer and pitch a tent. Thanks for any help

Which direction from Casper are you hunting? Lots of spots, some BLM that you just pull off and camp but for developed camping try along the river. Also down near Alcova.

Hunting unit 72. Never been up there before. Taking a couple guys on their first hunt out west and one on his first hunt period. So I’m mainly coaching but glad to do it.

Alcova will have great fishing as well. Otherwise you can camp out in the area on the BLM.

We stayed at Alcova last year after tagging out in 73. Its a nice campground close to your unit and some amazing fishing. My group also drew 72 this year will you guys be hunting the opener?

Thanks everyone

WildWill we will be out the week of September 22. If you see a green F150 or a white F350 flatbed with Missouri Tags stop and say hello. You guys have me thinking about a fishing licenses and I keep thinking about those sage grouse

I would definitely buy a fishing license you're going to want something to do after you fill your tags. We plan on setting up camp on the 14th and hunting opening day. We will move camp after tags are filled to be closer to the unit I have a deer tag in near Thermopolis. But if I see you I'll stop to say hello feel free to do the same will be in a blue chevy 1500 or black F250.

I have camped several times at Alcova, nice area, also have stayed at the KOA at Barr Nunn, showers and a store but otherwise I liked Alcova better.

I think there is one on Casper Mt as I'm pretty sure my buddy stayed there a few times.

Thanks guys. Alcova looked great to me but looks like we are staying at Fort Casper campground. I'm just ready to get out there
