Why do you say that? I've thrown live rounds in the fire. They throw brass shrapnel when the case frags.

Its not the bullet. Its the sharp pieces of brass flying around. You can do this little trick all you want, just promise your mother you will wear safety glasses.

Appears to be a military round with a crimped primer. Usually the primer will be expelled from the primer pocket when it goes off. And obviously the reason to "pull" the bullet is to salvage the case, powder, and bullet which in this procedure does none of the above. But I'm sure this is a case of "Don't try this at home".
