Question for those that might have more background on boot fit. I have a pair of Kennetrek Mountain extreme. Fit has been great for most of the last year, actually one of the best fits I’ve had. About 8-10 weeks ago, fit just seemed off. This weekend packing out I noticed a hot spot and didn’t get to it in time and had 3 blisters. Why would I now be getting hot spots and blisters? Are the boots worn out?

I have gotten bad blisters in 2 yr old, well broken in boots. I did not put fresh socks and moleskin on instantly and in half a mile I was screwed.
Moondust volcanic Cascades section of PCT. I hiked from Mt. Jefferson to Hood in tennis shoes. Got back ups for Mt. Hood climb.

Try new socks and carry moleskin......or what ever is pc these days.lol

Could it be the insole has broken down on the pressure points? Might be worth it to try a new insole. Just a thought.
I ordered a new pair from them and thats when I really started noticing it. It’s almost like the leather/or boot grew. I’m lacing them tighter than I had previously.

Same insole as previous? I could see a different insole changing the fit but same as previous should be pretty close to same fit. Odd. I guess the boots could have simply worn down enough to change the fit. As Hank mentioned, perhaps a different sock combination. I personally like leukotape over moleskin but they both work

I had the same issue with my last pair of Kennetrek. They had been great for the 2 pairs before that but my 3rd pair chewed my feet up. I ended up switching brands

Not that it may help but I only wear fitted insoles. Superfeet. Then poly pro liners under hunting socks. Many blisters can also be from moisture inside boot from sweat.

Yes I called kenetrek up and asked for the same insole that came with them.

I tried the extremes and only wore them one day before returning them. They were like stilts on my feet on side hills and rock. Super unstable. They also are super heavy and nearly impossible to stalk quietly with their thick, stiff soles. Some guys like them but I hated them!

More likely the insoles packed out or leather stretched. Swap insoles, check socks and lace tension

I've noticed in the last month or so that my feet just hurt after a day of work. I've worn Red Wing King Toes for years & usually replace them every 3 years. Working as a diesel mechanic on concrete. Never an issue in the past.

My Kenetrek ME used to leave my feet feeling like a massage after an all day hunt. Now there's a little soreness.

I'm thinking it's my feet/body that's changing rather than two different brands of boots. I'm going to go get fitted for orthotics to see if that'll help.
Might be you're experiencing something similar?

I can only say that I run Superfeet or SOLE inserts in my boots. I also discovered that my favorite socks didn't work for my Crispi Laponia boots...a bit of playing around and I figured out that two pair, one medium one thin together gave me a really great fit.

Sometimes it's just a question of trying combinations until we find the one that clicks.
