Bonus point Question

I was wondering if in Montana on you application you purchase a bonus point, and then put down the three choices of permits, and you dont draw the first choice but do draw the second choice. Do you still have a bonus point or do you start over the next year? Assuming you start out with zero points.

If you purchase a bonus point, you will only lose it or all of your points if you draw your FIRST choice option. If you draw second or third choice you keep your points.
