Best Opening Lyrics

Light the fuse and run now brother
Cuz' you ain't got a lot of time
Don't you act surprised
When it all goes to hell on your dime
Maybe you can stand tall enough
To look the devil eye to eye
But you better make your getaway quick
So you don't have to answer why

When my parents died this year, I had this on loop in the truck for a couple hundred miles driving home from Arizona.
My sister was a stone about it all until I sent her this. Then the dam broke.

Driving across Dakota, I saw an old freight train
That train has crossed this state through the wind the snow and rain
Now the wheels were rusted golden and it wasn't on a track
Somebody somewhere swore that train would be coming back.

Yeah, yeah, yeah

I have not come, yeah
To testify
About our bad, bad misfortune
And I ain't here a wond'rin' why
But I'll live on and I'll be strong
'Cause it just ain't my cross to bear

Everybody wants to know where Jimmy has gone
He left town, I doubt if he's coming back home
Well Tony got a job, three kids and a lovely wife
Working at the commerce bank for the rest of his life

My wife and I got to see this band for the first time, Saturday night in Cody. They played my favorite song by them, among many others.

All along the water
along the meadow's edge
I see you flying with the sunlight
I see you flying with the wind

It's hard not to take your point 'cause, "Yeah, okay, fine"
How do three mules and a mare just come untied?
Snake River horse theivin' ain't quite gone outta style
So it's hard not to take your point 'cause, "Yeah, okay, fine"

Ann and Nancy

I can't tell you
what you're feeling inside

and I can' sell you
what you don't want to buy

something's missing
you gotta look back on your life

you know something here just ain't right....
